King Of The Mountain News!

For the 2012 Atlanta Legacy Summer Showcase, the Organizers agreed in terms to award three Pre-paid Bids to the Champions of the 14u “A”, 16u “A” and 18u “A” King of the Mountain age divisions. No bids will be given out to the Champions of the 8u “A”, 10u “A” or 12u “A”. There will not be an 18 Gold Division.

Per the agreement, Camsports has agreed to split the King of the Mountain Tournament into an “A” event and a “B/Open” event.

The “B/Open” and the 10U "A" and 12U"A" event will be held on March 23rd, 24th & 25th, 2012. It will be run by Camsports using their normal format and rules.

The 14A,16A and 18A “A” event will be held on April 13th , 14th and 15th, 2012.

It will be run by Camsports with the following protocols:
•The event will be a double pool, double elimination format.
•The event will adhere to ASA rules and guidelines.
•Games will be officiated by ASA umpires.
•Games will be a minimum of One hour and Twenty Minutes.
•Teams must be ASA Sanctioned.
•Teams must provide an ASA Roster.
•Coaches must be ACE Certified.
•Teams may only play in their ASA select age group. In other words, a 14u team may not play up and win a 16u Legacy Bid.
•Even though age eligible, no 18 Gold teams will be allowed to play down in 18u “A”.
•ASA rules apply regarding age eligible College Freshman.
•The highest finishing team that has not already been preselected for the 2012 Atlanta Legacy Summer Showcase will be awarded the Bid.
•In the event of a total rainout, no bids will be awarded. The bids will revert to the Atlanta Legacy Organizers to be awarded to the Wait List Teams.
•In the event of a partial rainout, then Georgia ASA rules governing rainouts will apply and bids will be awarded accordingly.

Based on field availability, Camsports has reserved the right to the total number of teams accepted per age division. 

  

16-18u Scholarship Giveaway

The SECOND annual King of the Mountain scholarship giveaway will be awarded in the March 2012 event. Any 16-18 year old girl can submit a  250  minimum word essay explaining what softball means to them and its impact on their lives. Three (3) scholarships valued up to $1000 each will be given away.
